The Dim Little Island. Humphrey Jennings’ penultimate film collects some thoughts of our past, present and future from four men: Ralph Vaughan Williams (composer), James Fisher (naturalist), John Ormston (industrialist, Vickers Armstrong), and Osbert Lancaster (cartoonist). Sharing the narration they dwell on the achievements of the British nation, dispelling the image of “The Dim Little Island”. Perhaps a pre-cursor, to Jennings' final film Family Portrait made for the Festival of Britain in 1951. 10 minutes black and white.
