DVD Region 0 PAL. BBC Scotland documentary produced by Hopscotch Films telling the story of Shetland fisherman and folk musician Thomas Fraser.
When Thomas Fraser passed away in 1978 he was remembered only as a shy fisherman crofter. Thirty years later he has been hailed as the most important figure in the history of British Country Music, he's just had his fourth CD released and he's been honoured in Nashville's Country Music Hall of Fame. No mean achievement for a man who never even played live in Shetland's capital Lerwick.
In this beautifully filmed and evocative documentary for BBC Scotland, his friends, family and admirers tell his unlikely story. And from his home island of Barra, a concert in his memory celebrates an extraordinary musical legacy.
